Case Study: PACSGEAR

Founded in 2002, PACSGEAR is the leader in PACS/EHR connectivity solutions for hospitals and healthcare facilities.

Its innovative software seamlessly integrates documents, film, video, visible light and other images from any department to any PACS/EHR.  Healthcare personnel in specialties such as radiology, cardiology, gastroenterology, dermatology, orthopedics and pathology can connect, view and share images and results to enable health information exchange.  PACSGEAR’s products are deployed worldwide in over 1200 leading hospitals, healthcare networks and imaging facilities including Baylor Health Care System, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Kaiser Permanente, Loma Linda Medical Center, Poudre Valley Health System, Radiology Ltd. and Sutter Health.

BAYWORX was hired to solve a number of pain points that rapidly-growing companies all seem to have in common.

New Website
Virtualizing the infrastructure
VOIP Phone System
CRM Integration
Email migration
Site-to-site VPN

They were big enough to have big company challenges, but not big enough to hire a CTO / CIO.  We were able to effectively and affordably fill that role for several years, through several acquisitions which culminated in PACSGEAR being purchased by Perceptive Software for $54 million.  By having all of our documentation complete and up-to-date, we facilitated the due diligence to proceed with no problem.  We managed the entire infrastructure for a small, 10 person company, all the way up to the point where they were a 4 office, multinational organization with 50 employees.  All this while keeping costs well under control.

“Bayworx lets us concentrate on what we do best.  From VOIP to virtualization to website backend development, Bayworx has the expertise to get us there.”
